VT-CLAIM Project Officially Launched
The VT-CLAIM (Volcano, Tectonic and Climate–Atmosphere Interactions through Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Source Data Integration) project has officially started.
VT-CLAIM aims to develop an innovative framework based on Artificial Intelligence and multi-source Earth Observation data to investigate causal relationships among volcanic activity, tectonic processes and climate variability.
The project brings together researchers and experts from different scientific domains to address complex Earth system interactions through advanced data integration, modelling approaches and AI-driven analysis.
Kick-off Meeting – 19 June 2026
The official Kick-off Meeting of the project will be held on:

Location: INGV Osservatorio Etneo, Catania, Italy
Format: Hybrid (in-person and online participation)
The meeting will begin at approximately 10:00 AM and will provide an opportunity for project participants to:
- present the overall project framework;
- discuss scientific objectives and expected outcomes;
- coordinate activities among Work Packages;
- establish collaboration mechanisms among partners;
- define the roadmap for the first project phase.
Event Agenda
The Kick-off Meeting will include presentations from the project management team and the leaders of all scientific Work Packages.
Main topics will include:
- Project overview and management;
- Communication, outreach and dissemination activities;
- Climate indicators and climate-related datasets (WP2);
- Volcanic activity indicators (WP3);
- Tectonic activity indicators (WP4);
- Local-scale experimental activities (WP5);
- Artificial Intelligence integration framework (WP6);
- Physical interpretation of AI results (WP7);
- Open discussion and action planning.
