Activity of Etna
13 August 2025 - 2 September 2025

A new effusive phase occurred from mid-August to early September 2025.
The eruption began on 14 August, characterized by Strombolian activity and lava effusion from a fissure between the Bocca Nuova and Southeast Craters.
The intensity peaked between 25 and 26 August, then gradually declined in early September. By that time, the main effusive phase had ended.
Subsequent activity was limited to variable degassing, weak ash emissions from Bocca Nuova, and low-level thermal anomalies.
