 Giuseppe Salerno’s research interests are focused on quiescent and explosive magmatic degassing and eruptive process, multi-disciplinary integration of geochemical and geophysical data, emission data of volcanic SO2, inversion of remotely-sensed ultraviolet data by ground-based ultraviolet techniques (COSPEC, DOAS, UV-Scanner and SO2-Camera), and validation of satellite-based SO2 flux by ground-based techniques. He mainly works on Mt. Etna, Stromboli and Vulcano (Italy), but he also carried out several international research campaigns in South and Central America, Iceland, and USA in collaboration with local University and Observatories. He has published 24 ISI Publications and 4 book chapters, and has contributed to several Italian, United Kingdom and European funded projects. PhD in Volcanlogy at the University of Cambridge (UK).
